Some sponsorship ideas
			Running Events

There are running events taking place all over the world -
marathons, half marathons, 10k's, 5k's and shorter runs for
novice runners. Some of the larger organised marathon weekends
have a variety of running options for individuals and some also
				have team events.
For the experienced and more extreme
participants there are duathlons which involves cycling as well
as running and triathlons which adds swimming to those.
If a runner wants to run for Border Collie Rescue they can pay
for their own entry, contact us so we can register the event and
sort out the rest of the package and off they go - whatever they
raise in sponsorship is great - no pressure.
On the other
hand we can offer an opportunity for a runner to enter the event
				and run for free.
The runner still has to pay for their own
entry but we will refund them their entry fee if they meet or
exceed a target we mutually agree. We are not greedy and we do
				not set unobtainable targets.
We used to purchase charity
tickets or credits and issue them to people who volunteered to
run for us so they did not even have to pay for their own entry
but we were surprised how many runners that took that option
often only did so because they had missed the deadline for
public entries and had no real intention of raising funds for us
and we lost out on a lot of runs because they raised less then
				the entry fee.
Most of these running event organisers
charge a charity more for a place than they do a member of the
public buying their own place so we have stopped buying them but
we are always happy to cover a runners entry fee if they raise
				enough.
An exception we have come across are running events
organised by the Jane Tomlinson charity

				'Run for All'.
They organise events from 5k up
to a full marathon and some trail runs and walks. Worth checking
				out.
